"The purpose of this book is to show as clearly as possible that there is an essential unity in all religions; that there is no difference in the truths inculcated by the various faiths; that there is but one method by which the world, both external and internal, has evolved; and that there is but one Goal admitted by all scriptures." - Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri
Written in 1894, Sri Yukteswar states that he wrote it at the request of Mahavatar Babaji. In it, Sri Yukteswar compares Sanskrit slokas of the Upanishads to the writings of the New Testament and shows its unity. Also explained is the great cycle of world ages (yugas), of which there is currently a transition.
Sri Yukteswar Giri (10 May 1855 – 9 March 1936) was an Indian monk and yogi, and the guru of Paramahansa Yogananda and Swami Satyananda Giri.
