Holy Lama Naturals is a family business with it's factory located in Kerala, India. The business is run on the 10 principles of fair trade, ensuring to be responsible employers; equal pay is guaranteed, irrespective of gender, and annual wage increases are always made in line with inflation. The business is run on a no-credit principle so all the local farmers and raw material suppliers are paid immediately and with fair prices.
Over 80% of the workforce in the factory in India is female, and mainly from disadvantaged backgrounds, including single mother and victims of abuse.
Holy Lama Naturals is as ecologically friendly as possible. The factory’s sustainable model ensures there is less than 1% wastage in production, and any waste is used as fuel or cattle feed, making the company’s carbon footprint exceptionally low.
The roots are in the manufacturing of essential oils which are used to develop a natural skincare range based on Ayurvedic principles.
Holy Lama Naturals handmade, natural skincare products are vegan friendly, sustainable and eco-friendly. The recipients of multiple awards, including Free From Skincare Awards. The packaging for our popular soap bars is made from leaves dropped by the Areca palm and are moulded into our distinctive oyster shells – totally sustainable and something we are actively working towards for all our packaging.
